Great Food, Real Ales and Live Music
Newport was once a busy trading port with numerous warehouses, loading cranes, ships and barges. One of the last remaining warehouses has been extensively renovated and sits alongside the Bargeman’s Rest and is home to the Quay Arts Centre.
Newport is the Isle of Wight’s county town and is truly at the heart of the Island. The Bargeman’s Rest is just a short walk down Quay Street or Holyrood Street from Newport High Street, so is perfectly placed for a hearty meal or a drink on the water’s edge.
The Bargeman’s Rest is open all day, everyday serving a selection of real ales together with an extensive wine list.
Opening times are Monday – Saturday 10:30am to 11:00pm and from 10.30am to 10.30pm on Sunday. Food is served from 12pm – 9pm. We have regular live music on most evenings with many of the Isle of Wight’s top musicians to entertain you.
The Bargeman’s is also a popular choice of venue for meetings, conferences, special events, weddings and wakes. Take a look at our gallery and contact us for more information about our functions facilities.
Our preferred method of contact for making reservations is either by email on our contact page or phone 01983 525828
